Tamborine Lavender News – Sept & October 2019

We are moving ahead, but it has been very dry.  We have had a total of 30ml in the last 2 ½ months, so we have had to buy in water for the household and are very grateful for the bore.  We have been using it to water the lavender and also around the dam where we put out seed.  This is to stop erosion on the new earthworks if we do get a big downpour.  I have been busy working on products and have had wins and fails and some curve balls in between.

I have had to come to the realization that it is just me at the moment and my husband who helps with the watering and other outside jobs.  I have had to decide on what I can make and what I will have to outsource.  I have worked with a cosmetic chemist to come up with a formula for a simple luxurious moisturiser and a chemical free liquid hand wash.  There are few ingredients, but they are quality ones and are included for their individual qualities and also for the way they interact together.  You won’t find a list of man-made chemicals on our labels as we want our products to be as natural as possible, as well as being practical, good quality and do what they say.  If it says moisturiser, it will moisturise.  If it says cleans or washes, that is what the product will do.  We will not pretend or foam up the marketing with words that don’t mean anything.  We want to be honest about everything we do and provide simple and effective products.  No more and certainly no less.  I might be going out on a limb here, but it is what I would like as a customer/consumer – no BS – it is what it is.  So there won’t be guarantees that you’ll look 30 years younger by using our products or that you will morph overnight into a super model, but you will know exactly what you are putting onto or next to your skin.

Ok little rant done…hope you will remain on the journey – an wow what a journey it has been, is, and will continue to be.  Sometimes, no, many times I have thought, “If only I started this 10 yrs ago”.  It probably doesn’t matter when we started and I am glad that we have started.  I think it is the thought of a physically fitter and little more youthful body is the real wish here….lol.

Today I have met with a web designer, which is one of the things I have had to outsource.  I really don’t have enough skill in web design – actually I have zip, nil, zilch.  So while I have come up with the page content and wording and a few pictures, I really needed someone to put it all together and make sure links work and add the on-line store bit etc.  In actual fact she is a God send.  I was starting to feel quite anxious about the website and it was difficult to admit I wasn’t superhuman after all, but once the decision was made – what a relief!  Like the relief of ripping off your bra at the end of the day after being restricted all day – sorry if there are guys reading this – hang on, I’ll ask my other half what your equivalent would be……. He said,  “No undies under the shorts when I’ve had a shower at the end of the day!  Oh gosh,  now you all have vision of us being braless and freeballing – oh well – hope it gives you a smile.

I have also been working on labels and tags..

And so it continues!
